The companies like OnePlus and LG are yet to release their Smartphone for the year 2018. Both the companies have confirmed the launch date of their flagship devices in the month of May 2018. Besides these flagship devices, there are many budget ranges devices to be released in the month of May 2018. Most of these devices launching are China-centric Smartphone. Some of them may come in Nepalese and Indian Markets as well. So let’s have a look at some of the Upcoming Smartphone that is releasing in may 2018 and their features:

OnePlus has announced the release date of their flagship device OnePlus 6 on 16th of May in London. The device is to be launched in India on 17th May. The initial leaks and specifications of the device have revealed us many details of the smartphones. The company has initiated Glass Back design with the OnePlus 6. We might be able to see a special Ceramic Body Variant based on the leaks. The device will have a notch like iPhone X and sports Snapdragon 845 which is an octa-core processor.
The device is said to have up to 8 GB RAM and up to 256GB internal storage in the high-end version. It is also being speculated that the company may release dash charger v2 which will change the charging speed by making use of current generation charge. The device will come with Android Oreo 8.1 out of the box. The company has retained 3.5 mm audio jack with this phone which is a great feature.
Honor has already unveiled Honor 10 smartphone in China last week and the device is going to release globally on 15th of May. Even Honor 10 is going to have glass sandwich design like its predecessors. Like every other smartphone, Honor 10 is also having a notch at the top of its display. Along with the notch, Honor 10 comes with a Full HD+ resolution display and 19:9 screen aspect ratio. Honor 10 sports HiSilicon Kirin 970 processor which is octa-core and is coupled with a dedicated NPU for running the AI tasks.
We are yet to see the latest flagship smartphones from a couple of brands. Both OnePlus and LG have already confirmed to launch their 2018 flagship smartphone in the month of May. Apart from flagship smartphones, we will also see quite a few budget-centric launches in India. Most of these newly launching smartphones will also be sold in the Indian market.
Xiaomi is about to launch its budget king Mi 6x aka Mi A2 in the international market within the 2nd week of may. Mi 6x is already being sold in Chine while there is no confirmation that when the Mi A2 is going to be launched. Mi A2 sports similar design as of Redmi Note 5 Pr. Anther upcoming phone Redmi S2 also has got the similar design. The company has decided to ditch 3.5mm audio jack with the launch of Mi 6x aka Mi A2.
Mi A2 has got a 5.99-inch Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) display and the processor used is Snapdragon 660 which is an octa-core processor. The back side of the smartphone has got a dual rear cameras setup having 20MP Sony IMX376 and 12MP Sony IMX486 sensors with f/1.8 aperture. On the front side for the selfie, it has got a 20MP Sony IMX376 sensor for capturing selfies. The smartphone is backed by a 3,010mAh non-removable battery which also comes with Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging.
LG G7 ThinQ
LG has announced the launch of its flagship device the LG G7 ThinQ smartphone on 2nd of May in New York which is the latest upcoming smartphone for LG. The LG G7 ThinQ would be the first device from LG to have a notch at the top of its display. The new LG G7 ThinQ will also have AI-based camera features like the LG V30 ThinQ smartphones. It is said that the device will come with a 6.1-inch display that will sport a Quad HD+ resolution and 19:9 screen aspect ratio.
The LG G7 ThinQ is the first smartphone which will have a Super Bright Display having 1000 nits brightness. The Super Bright Display of LG G7 ThinQ is said to be more power efficient than any other display of the same size. The device would be sporting Snapdragon 845 chipset. The smartphone has also got AI features like Vision AI and Voice AI.
Xiaomi is soon going to launch a new budget smartphone of Redmi series with dual cameras set up on back and 18:9 ratio displays. Going as per leaks, the smartphone is said to be named as Redmi S2 and will have a 6-inch HD+ (1440 x 720 pixels) display screen and the processor used in the smartphone is said to be Snapdragon 625 which is an octa-core processor. The device is speculated to be available with different RAM and storage variants. On the back, the Redmi S2 will be having a dual camera of 12MP & 5MP sensors with EIS and LED flash.
On the front side, there is a 16MP front-facing camera with portrait mode for selfies. The phone will be running on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 9.5 out of the box. Besides the fingerprint sensor, the smartphone will also have Face Unlock to instantly unlock the device. The smartphone will be backed by a 3,080mAh battery and is also said to have a 10W fast charging. The dimension of the phone measures 160.7 x 77.3 x 8.1 mm and weighs 170 grams. The device is said to be available in Indian and China in the coming weeks.
HMD Global launched the new Nokia X smartphone with an event that was held in China. The smartphone will be officially launched on 16th of May, the same day when OnePlus 6 is launching globally. Nokia X availability may be limited to the Chinese market at the initial week. The Nokia X would the first Nokia device to sport the notch like iPhone X.
On the back side, the smartphone has got a dual rear camera and a fingerprint sensor. Like every other newly launched Nokia devices, there is absence ZEISS branding even on the Nokia X. The device is speculated to be released in two different variants. While the Snapdragon 636 powered variant packs 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, the Helio P60 powered variant will be offering 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. It will be running on the latest Android Oreo out of the box.
Motorola officially launched the Moto G6, Moto G6 Plus, and Moto G6 Play. As of now, the company is selling the new Moto G6 smartphones only in Brazil. All these smartphones feature 18:9 displays and Snapdragon processors. They run on the Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. While the Moto G6 and G6 Plus come with 12MP + 5MP dual rear cameras, the Moto G6.
Both the front and rear cameras on these devices come accompanied by a LED flash. While the Moto G6 and G6 Plus come with a front facing fingerprint sensor, the fingerprint sensor on the Moto G6 Play is embedded into the Moto dimple on the rear. The devices also support Turbo Power fast charging technology. Unlike the US and European pricing, we expect the company to launch these devices with a bit more aggressive price tag in India.
